Read moreThe ACR® Patient- and Family-Centered Care (PFCC) Economics Committee created Patient-Friendly AI-Generated Summaries of Radiology Reports to help patients better understand their radiology findings and learn how to use AI-generated summaries effectively. Developed in collaboration with the Artificial Intelligence Economics Committee, the Patient-Friendly AI-Generated Summaries of Radiology Reports explains AI’s role in radiology, the purpose of AI-generated summaries and how patients should use them alongside guidance from their care team.
The patient-friendly handout can support conversations about AI and improve understanding of radiology findings for patients and families. The College urges members to incorporate the handout into patient education materials and clinical workflows where AI-generated summaries are available.
